The Ellison Medical Foundation pledged $798,712 to support the Molecular Biology of Aging course.
The National Science Foundation awarded $763,954 total for "Collaborative Research: Development of Compact, Waterproof Hyper-Spectral Imaging and Multi-Channel Spectro Polarimeter Instrumentation for Marine Biological Studies of Coloration." [3-year award, PI, R. Hanlon]
Dr. and Mrs. Shinya Inoué donated property, the proceeds of which will support the Shinya and Sylvia Inoué Institutional Fund for Cellular Dynamics Imaging Program.
The National Institutes of Health awarded $285,196 for "Transcriptional Regulatory Networks Controlling Xenopus Pancreas Development." [PI, M. Horb]
The National Science Foundation awarded $255,033 for "Collaborative Research: Microbial influences on Alexandrium populations." [PI, L. Amaral Zettler]
Mr. and Mrs. Charles M. Rosenthal gave $250,000 to acquire video conferencing equipment for the Brown University and MBL Partnership.
The US Department of Energy awarded $170,772 for "Effects of warming on tree species recruitment in deciduous forests of the eastern United States." [PI, J. Melillo]
The US Department of Energy awarded $160,000 for "Impacts of Climate Change on Biofuels Production." [PI, J. Melillo]
Mr. and Mrs. Normal Bernstein pledged to add $150,000 to the Diane and Norman Bernstein Endowment Fund for the Marine Resource Center and made a five-year, $50,000 commitment to the Annual Fund.
The US Department of Energy awarded $149,805 for "Exploratory: Quantifying the control of plant photosynthesis on root respiration by measuring and manipulating photosynthate transport rates in the tree phloem." [2-year award, PI. J. Tang]
Dr. Jane C. Kaltenbach-Townsend made a bequest of $120,000, the purpose of which will be to support the Jane C. Kaltenbach-Townsend Endowment for Undergraduate Research Award.
