MBL Trustees Elect New Members
Six reappointed for second term

WOODS HOLE, MA—The Trustees of the MBL (Marine Biological Laboratory) have elected Paul R. Dupee of Falmouth, Massachusetts, Beverly Hills, California, and London and Annette L. Williamson of Fort Worth, Texas to their Board. Both were elected to the Class of 2009.

The MBL is an international, independent, nonprofit institution dedicated to improving the human condition through creative research and education in the biological, biomedical and environmental sciences. Founded in 1888 as the Marine Biological Laboratory, the MBL is the oldest private marine laboratory in the Western Hemisphere.

Mr. Dupee is a private investor and a former co-owner of the Boston Celtics basketball team. He is a member of the Brown University Board of Trustees and a member of the Board of Governors of the University's Watson Institute for International Studies.

Ms. Williamson's family business, the Williamson-Dickie Manufacturing Company, produces the "Dickies" brand of apparel and work clothes. Ms. Williamson is on the Advisory Council of the University of Texas Marine Science Institute and is also a member of the Executive Committee of The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History's Board of Trustees. She is a former Trustee of the African Wildlife Federation.

MBL Trustees have reappointed the following Board members to a second term: Bruce A. Beal of Boston, Massachusetts (Class of 2009); Margaret C. Bowles of Lyme, New Hampshire (Class of 2009); Walter E. Massey of Atlanta, Georgia (Class of 2006); R. Dana Ono, of Concord, Massachusetts (Class of 2009); John W. Rowe of Hartford, Connecticut (Class of 2008); and Gerald Weissmann, of New York, New York (Class of 2009).

Board of Trustees Officers include Alfred M. Zeien, Chairman; George W. Logan, Vice Chair, John E. Dowling, President of the Corporation, and ex officio members, William T. Speck, Director and Chief Executive Officer; Mary B. Conrad, Treasurer of the Corporation, Christopher M. Weld, Clerk of the Corporation; and Paul J. De Weer, Chairman of the Science Council.
