I.   General Introduction

Natural and Artificial Seawaters, Ringer's Solutions, Buffered Salines, and Solutions Isosmotic with Seawater are used to maintain living cells, tissues, organs, and organisms for experimental research. This Compendium provides detailed information on such extracellular physiological media for aquatic species - principally marine invertebrates and fish - with samplings for mammals and other vertebrates.
