Whitman Building Renovation

As of May 2006

With $4 million in pledges and gifts in hand, the $11 million renovation of the Whitman building is moving forward. The entire Whitman building, including the auditorium, will be gutted and refitted. Construction will begin immediately after Labor Day 2006, although some preliminary work on the outside of the building will be done this summer. Whitman investigators must vacate the building no later than September 5th. Anyone staying beyond this date must make arrangements to move to another laboratory on campus. Renovations will be complete by late spring, just in time for the summer 2007 research season. Investigators expecting to arrive in early spring must also make arrangements to use alternative laboratory space.
