2009 Colloquium on the Biology of Aging Registration

Date: August 3-5, 2009
Location: Marine Biological Laboratory, Woods Hole, MA - USA
Colloquium Schedule

The annual Colloquium on the Biology of Aging will be held at the Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL) in Woods Hole, Massachusetts, on Monday August 3, Tuesday August 4, and Wednesday August 5. As you know, the meeting is co-sponsored by The Ellison Medical Foundation and the MBL. Please plan to arrive by evening on August 2. The Second Annual Joshua Lederberg Lecture will be held on the evening of Tuesday August 4th.

Lillie building

The staff of The Ellison Medical Foundation is preparing the agenda; it will be forwarded to you when it is available. All sessions will be held in the Lillie Auditorium. Below you’ll find some logistical information for the meeting. Please review this information and complete the online registration form. Because accommodations are extremely limited this year, we must receive your online registration by May 15, 2009 in order to guarantee housing. Even if you do not need a hotel reservation, please complete and return the RSVP form regarding your attendance and whether or not you will be participating in planned dining functions.

Travel:
The Colloquium will cover the cost of round trip travel for yourself from your home institution. Special arrangements have been made between the MBL and Commonwealth Travel for your airline tickets. Contact Colleen at Commonwealth Travel as soon as possible to ensure that you get the best possible fare and most convenient flight. Please identify yourself as a Colloquium participant. Her telephone number is 1-800-287-5103; e-mail: colleen@commtravel.com. If you wish to make your own travel reservation, please be advised that The Ellison Medical Foundation will only reimburse the cost of an economy class roundtrip ticket from your home institution. Be sure to save any receipts, because you will need to submit those for any items for which you are seeking reimbursement. For additional travel information please visit:

Housing:
Hotel rooms in Woods Hole are in very short supply this summer and overflow rooms will be booked in nearby Falmouth hotels. A shuttle bus to and from the Colloquium will be provided between Falmouth and Woods Hole. We will try to accommodate those who will not have access to a car in Woods Hole, booked in order of RSVPs received. Because housing is extremely limited this year, we are only able to reserve one room per Colloquium participant.

Dining:
The registration form also contains important information about dining. Please complete and submit this form online at your earliest convenience so we can begin making dining arrangements for everyone. If your spouse or a guest will accompany you, please indicate his/her name as well. We will be making nametags for the dinners. It is very important that all Colloquium participants attend the dinners on August 3 and 4. Senior Scholars from 2008 and New Scholars from 2009 will be introduced at the Monday evening dinner. Dress for dinners is business casual. Your spouse is welcome to join you for those dinners, but we must know in advance if he or she is planning to attend. Children cannot be accommodated at these dinners.

If you have any questions or need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact Eileen McDonald, Director of Housing and Conferences, Marine Biological Laboratory, 508-289-7212; emcdonald@mbl.edu. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
