Employee Assistance Program
What is an Employee Assistance Program?
An employee assistance program, or EAP, is an information resource and counseling service for employees and their family members who may be experiencing personal or work-place problems.
The EAP also offers a range of support for managers, including coaching for dealing with interpersonal issues in the office, critical incident debriefings following a traumatic incident for the organization, and organizational development services.
The MBL has engaged a well-known local Falmouth-based organization, Gosnold/ROI Associates, to provide its EAP program. ROI Associates provides confidential consultation for personal problems that may affect an employees work performance marital and family issues, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, gambling, legal and financial stress, and other issues.
The ROI Associates professional staff includes licensed psychologists, social workers, mental health therapists and addiction counselors. In addition to providing direct services, when necessary, the ROI staff also refers clients to qualified practitioners and community agencies. Employee Assistance Programs are a resource, not only for the employee, but also for family members.
Will the Counselor Keep my Problem Confidential?
Yes The EAP will not share any individual information concerning your use of the EAP with anyone without your prior knowledge and written consent, except if your personal safety might be endangered or if required by law. Every counselor knows this rule.
How Much Will the EAP Cost Me?
Nothing. EAP services are offered at no cost to all regular MBL employees and their eligible dependents, regardless of whether they participate in the insurance program. Whats more, you are encouraged to use EAP services whenever you need help or information to best handle your job or family responsibilities.
