Message from the Equal Employment Opportunity Coordinator

Diversity in Action

It’s hard to believe that spring and war started on the same day. After such a long, hard winter, nothing could be more encouraging to our spirits than the knowledge that spring has finally come and warmer days will be here soon. War, on the other hand, can leave us feeling hopeless, helpless, fearful, and angry. In such an emotional state, it is easy to get discouraged and look for someone to blame, and it is easier to blame someone who has different beliefs than you, or who is of a different race or nationality.

MBL’s commitment to diversity means that we stay open minded and that we practice tolerance among the people we work with every day regardless of their political beliefs, religious practices, or the color of their skin. Let’s keep our thoughts focused on the “spring-like” qualities in one another and treat each other with mutual respect and consideration as we live through these difficult times.
