Chuck Hopkinson Takes New Position at Georgia Sea Grant

The MBL said goodbye to senior scientist Chuck Hopkinson who left the MBL after 18 years of service to become the new director of the Georgia Sea Grant Program, part of a national network of 30 university-based offices run by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The programs work with communities on conservation of coastal and ocean resources. Chuck is an expert on salt marsh ecology and coastal ecosystems and was the lead principal investigator on the Plum Island Ecosystem Long Term Ecological Research project. Chuck’s friends and colleagues gathered at the MBL Club on December 11 at a going-away reception hosted by The Ecosystems Center.
