MBL Web Update
by David Gallagher

Content Management System

Much work has been done behind the scenes to implement our new content management system. This new software is needed due to the increasing size and complexity of the MBL website. After weeks of checking each web page, the site is nearly ready for launch in the new system. Many thanks to Chris Dematos and John Furfy, who have worked extremely hard to get the MBL and MBLWHOI Library sites into the new system. Thanks to their efforts, web users should notice no disruption when the site is moved over. In the coming weeks, we will be training employees who currently manage content on the MBL website on the new system.

Alumni Affairs
A virtual class reunion site has been created for 1976 Experimental Invertebrate Zoology course. The site contains pages of photos and remembrances from course alumni and faculty. Check out the class photo to find some familiar faces.

Education
All course pages have been updated for 2007. New application forms are available, and updated deadlines, tuition, and housing information are also available.

Human Resources
MBL policies have been updated, and many HR forms can also be found on the web. Visit the HR site and click on “Staff Toolbox” for details.

MBL Associates
New pricing, photos, and products have been added to the MBL gift shop website. Visit our virtual gift shop and check out some of the new toys, books, shirts, and hats that have been added recently.

On the Horizon
Our next big web project will be a refreshening of the site’s design. We’ve taken your comments on the website from last spring’s survey, and will be working to make the website more informative and easier to use. Coming soon!
